What’s up, bra!?

Hello everyone and welcome back to Sop’s Blog! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.

I’ve been a 32E (32DDD for those of you in America) since I was about 16/17. As I was growing I was finding it more and more difficult to buy pretty bras that were actually my size. I started off in Marks & Spencer’s which does some really nice bras but they get more plain past a 32D I found and even the more expensive ones weren’t that exciting.

I went to New York for the first time in December 2013 and off I headed into Victoria’s Secret to look at some overpriced bras that probably didn’t do my size. Well I was completely wrong, they did nearly every single style in my size and due to the Christmas sales they were buy one, get one free. I ended up buying a few of the Dream Angles Demi and Multi-Way bras and they’ve been my favourite style ever since. Victoria’s Secret’s bras are very expensive but I only ever buy them in the sale and when I’m lucky enough to go to America as they’re a lot cheaper over there. However, they last years and the idea is that you start off on the loosest hook and as the bra gets older and inevitably stretches you can still tighten the back. Some of the bras I got in 2013 I still wear now (I may have ruined a few by accidentally putting them in the dryer).

These are by far the most comfortable underwired bras I have ever worn. I prefer the balcony style as I find the middle doesn’t dig in as much as the smaller ones. They aren’t push up or heavily padded (although they do have those styles if that is what you’re looking for). They’re super soft and come in so many different patterns and colours. As you can see, my black bra has the multi-way option but the straps only undo at the back by a clip which I find it better as I have another bra where the straps can hook on and off entirely but they fall off all the time.

Bralettes

Trying to buy a bralette has always been a nightmare for me, the ones from the likes of Topshop have never really been supportive and if they fit my back then it was likely half my boob was hanging out. During my trip to NY in 2016 I ended up buying the white bralette pictured above in a size M from Victoria’s Secret for only $15 in the sale and it was the best decision I ever made. Even though its completely elasticated it fits perfectly around the back and I don’t have half my boob popping out. I’ve had it for over a year now and I still wear it all the time as its a lot more comfortable than an underwired bra. The two other bralettes in the picture were given to me as a christmas present but are currently in the sale for ‘any two for £29.54’ so go treat yo self. They undo by a hook at the front but doesn’t dig in at all because the rest of the bra is elasticated and the straps are also adjustable. In all these bralettes the inside of the cups are silky and super comfy and it doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing a bra but you do have the support!

Thanks for reading this post. 😊
