Our Engagement Party!! | Venue and Decorations…

I thought I wrote this post months ago but turns out I didn’t for whatever reason, I think it was because I went back to university so here it is now!

Evan and I held our engagement party at a riverside pub along the Thames in Surbiton in September 2017. We were able to reserve a section inside the pub that lead out onto a pretty balcony section. I was really worried that there wasn’t going to be enough space as we were expecting just over 50 people to attend but in the end the space was perfect! We had an hour to set up before everyone arrived which was great as it gave us plenty of time to hang all the decorations and also sort out the table where the cake was. Evan was absolutely amazing and arranged nearly all of the decorations for the venue. He ordered this white, pink and gold bunting from amazon and I must admit I wasn’t keen on it at first but he did an amazing job hanging it all up because after it looked beautiful. (Thanks to everyone that helped set up too). He also bought some fairy lights and white confetti balloons that went on and next to the main table that had the cake on it along with my engagement/wedding scrapbook.

The scrapbook on the main table was an engagement gift from my Auntie and I decided to leave it open so that people could write messages inside. I’m so glad I did this because even now I like to look back and read all the messages my friends and family wrote. The cake was an absolute bargain from Costco, only £15 with a personalised message! It looked a bit too plain for me though so I decided to buy some chocolate love hearts to stick on the top. The big letters on the end were from a store in Kingston called Typo. I can’t remember exactly how much they were but I know they weren’t that expensive otherwise I wouldn’t have got them!

I absolutely love my sweets so I decided to buy some jars from Wilko, fill them with my favourite sweets and then leave them on each of the tables! These were only a small addition to the decorations but everyone loved them so I am so glad I decided to do this.

Even though we didn’t spend a lot of money on decorating the venue it ended up looking so pretty and that’s only because I have some great people around me that helped decorate. The evening was perfect and I would definitely recommend this venue.

Thank you so much for reading this very spontaneous post, I hope you enjoyed! 🙂
